National Stericycle Protest Takes Places Across the US

BREAKING: National Stericycle Protest Takes Places Across the US

Columbus, OH – May 22, 2019 – According to the abortion industry’s own experts, medical waste companies such as Stericycle are the abortion industry’s weak link. Since Created Equal’s launch of Project Weak Link in 2016, despite evidence to the contrary, Stericycle, America’s largest waste hauler, has continued to deny receiving and transferring aborted babies at abortion facilities across the country. Because of these denials, we are turning up the heat on Stericycle.  Protests will be led outside of Stericycle locations in states across America.

Nationwide Protest of Stericycle

Who: Prolife activists from around America in over a dozen states

What: Protest of Stericycle at locations nationwide

When: May 22, 2019

We’ve seen that Stericycle’s official policy is not enough,” said Mark Harrington, President of Created Equal, and also a co-director of the National Stericycle Protest. “Stericycle has been caught again and again helping Planned Parenthood dispose of the bodies of their unborn victims.” Harrington notes that Stericycle’s stock price plummeted after his group began #ProjectWeakLink in 2016, a public campaign to expose the company’s involvement with Planned Parenthood. Harrington concluded, “It makes good business sense, and it’s the right thing to do: Stericycle should dump Planned Parenthood.”

“Given their official company policy, it’s clear that Stericycle does not want to be involved in the abortion business,” said Eric Scheidler, executive director of the Pro-Life Action League and one of the co-directors of the National Stericycle Protest. “But that’s impossible as long as they have contracts with Planned Parenthood, which is responsible more than 330,000 abortions every year, more than 35% of the national total.” Scheidler purchased a share of Stericycle stock so he can attend the May 22 meeting and share this message with his fellow stockholders.

Scheidler and Harrington are currently recruiting local pro-life activists throughout the country to coordinate protests at Stericycle offices, waste disposal centers, and other facilities on May 22.

In February 2019,  according to the website Christian News, The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GEPD) released findings of an investigation demonstrating that Stericycle continues to haul and dispose of aborted babies. The GEPD also reported that Stericycle is the only company picking up at the facility in question despite repeated claims that they do not dispose of aborted fetuses.

The Ohio Attorney General found that Stericycle was transporting and disposing of aborted babies for Planned Parenthood.  Eyewitnesses have repeatedly filmed Stericycle trucks picking up aborted fetuses at abortion centers nationwide.

In 2018, Stericycle was fined for violations of a South Carolina infectious waste law.  Whistleblowers for Created Equal uncovered ongoing illegal transactions of dead baby body parts between a Greenville, SC abortion clinic and Stericycle. On three separate occasions, video was captured showing a representative of Greenville Women’s Clinic illegally transporting dead babies in a passenger car and transferring the aborted baby body parts to a Stericycle waste truck at a local gas station.
