Dr. June Knight sat down with a very well-known man in this area named Earl Green. He has an angelic voice and can be compared to the male version of Sandi Patti. He is so anointed and can break some spiritual glass with his vocal cords! Hear the amazing life story tomorrow!
Earl was born and raised in Ohio within a little town called London. Life was somewhat rough since he lost his father at the tender age of two. Having a strong Christian family helped him to overcome the difficulties of this loss and he accepted Christ as his personal savior at six years of age. From early childhood he showed much interest in music and began playing for services at London Baptist Church at seven years of age. This prompted his family to have him begin piano lessons at age eight. He competed in State competitions regularly throughout grade school and on into High School. He usually placed first or second in the category of piano.
In his teenage years, Earl developed a keen interest in opera. He decided to try out for the State vocal competition even though he had had no formal training in voice. He placed second. This small victory prompted him to study voice at Wittenburg University in Springfield, OH. After graduating High School, he moved to Dallas, TX where he continued to study voice with Ruth Ann Graham and Thomas Hayward at SMU. Ruth Ann is a devout spirit-filled Christian and took the opportunity to introduce her young protégé to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Earl accepted this new theology and became spirit-filled at that time, then went on to introduce his wife and mother to the Holy Spirit.
Earl has performed with several major opera companies in the United States including Dallas Grand Opera, Washington DC Summer Opera and Opera Columbus. He has traveled to France on four occasions and played the organs in the majestic cathedrals of Paris, including Notre Dame De Paris. He is now full time Minister of Music, Organist and Soloist at Orlando Prayer & Worship Center International under the leadership of Dr. Roy Futch and works part-time with the Orlando Opera.
His other interests include gourmet cooking, the French language and culture, pipe and electronic organ building and music composition.
Over the last few years I’ve been learning about audio/video production and have just released a new CD “Unstoppable Praise!”.
