Why Write Bills in Congress then Insert Language to Hang Christians? We Examine Bill HR 5034

December 17, 2018

Report By: Dr. June Knight

Washington DC – Since being up here in DC..I have learned so much about culture, other countries, law, government, procedures, etc. I am amazed at how they do BILLS. For instance…look at this bill about female protections:

(16) Female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) is carried out most often on girls between infancy and 15 years of age and has impacted more than 125,000,000 girls and women who are alive today. FGM/C can cause long-term health problems, including infertility, complications in childbirth, and increased risk of newborn deaths.

You can visit this website and read the bills! What’s really sad is how they write these bills to protect the women and children, but they also add language that could in the end hurt Christians. For instance..look at this sentence added in this bill…

(4) GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE.—The term “gender-based violence”—

(A) means any harmful threat or act directed at an individual or group based on actual or perceived biological sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or lack of adherence to varying socially constructed norms around masculinity and femininity; and

(B) includes the use or threat of physical, psychological, sexual, economic, legal, political, social and other forms of control or abuse.

Notice the language – “perceived biological sex”, “gender identity or expression”, “sexual orientation OR lack of adherence to varying socially constructed norms around masculinity and femininity”. PEOPLE…THIS CAN BE USED AGAINST CHRISTIANS! ALTHOUGH THE WHOLE BILL IS DESIGNED FOR A CERTAIN THING…THEY HAVE TO THROW IN THIS! WHAT THE WORLD! When they say “social and other forms of control or abuse”, who determines what that is? Who determines if a preacher or counselor is controlling them? This is a very fine line!

Of course we recognize the atrocities happening which is the majority of this bill, but when they throw in language that can harm our faith, it is highly suspicious. I pray I’m wrong, but after working for a lawyer and understanding how they insert “language” to protect future litigation, it definitely raises an eyebrow.

In the end, if a Christian counselor attempts to help someone see that they are their true identity (the gender born with), they could be in violation of this Bill. If you think I am far-fetched, then why did they include this lunacy in the writings? Christians must pay close attention!

H.R.5034 – International Violence Against Women Act of 2018115th Congress (2017-2018)

Sponsor: Rep. Schakowsky, Janice D. [D-IL-9] (Introduced 02/15/2018)
Committees: House – Foreign Affairs
Latest Action: House – 02/15/2018 Referred to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

On the positive side of the bill, it will help the violence against women, female genital mutilation, child marriages etc., and women’s groups such as the Middle Eastern Women’s Coalition. This group, led by Rabia Kazan, rallied the halls of Congress last week to gather attention to their cause. They even took it to the White House. See their speeches:
